November
KFE and Kiremko are joining together to form one company and as a result of this re-organisation from April of next year, Bill Shaw will be stepping down as a Director of KFE Ltd.

It is a development that will see KFE Ltd join with Kiremko Services Ltd, re-branding as KIREMKO – KFE LTD. A company with specialist expertise in manufacturing, sales, marketing and service!

Negotiations are currently at an advanced stage for a new 10,000 sq ft purpose built unit in the Peterborough area, into which sales and service plan to relocate by June 2007. “We have enjoyed success with KFE over the past 10 years, but we believe these developments will strengthen further Kiremko’s premier position in the UK frying market for the next 10 years and beyond.” said Paul. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill for his major part in Kiremko’s expansion to date and thank him also for his support as a partner and more importantly, a friend. I know he intends to spend more time with his family, but we are delighted to have agreed a consultancy deal to utilise his contacts and expertise in the Fish and Chip market.”

THE MAGPIE - WHITBY'S FINEST FISH AND CHIP SHOP

The Magpie at Whitby has been famous for many years now for supplying thousands of visitors with the best traditional fish & chips money can buy, and when Ian Robson who has owned the business since 1995 decided to open The Magpie Take-Away next door to the famous restaurant, he needed to make sure of two very important things. Those were, that firstly, with the many planning restrictions that had been placed upon him, the range had to be tailored made for the shop and secondly, that it would produce quality product fast and efficiently.

After visiting various exhibitions, he made the decision to install a Kiremko combination frying range. “It is undoubtedly one of the busiest restaurants in the country and when I visited the other day, said Bill Shaw of KFE. there was a queue of 30 people waiting for the doors to open - that certainly is a success story.”

Because of the room available in the new take-away an ‘L’ shaped range was designed with standard fish pans on the wall section and three two basket High Efficiency chip pans on the counter section. “There is no doubt, said Ian, that with the volume of product I have needed to produce since the take-away opened, it would not have been possible with a standard traditional range, but with the Kiremko High efficiency pans, I am able to keep up with the queues and make sure that they are moving at all times.”

The Kiremko range is complimented by a bolero front with blue down lights which looks absolutely stunning from the outside of the shop. “It is interesting, added Bill, that Kiremko was the first range to incorporate the Bolero design which has now been copied by two or three other manufacturers, but they do say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery!”

Ian is delighted with the range and all at KFE Ltd are very proud to have the Famous Magpie Café as one of their many high profile customers.

PRICES ARE GOING UP
You may have noticed that prices are going up - oil, gas, electricity and potato prices are all creeping up. We can help bring the prices down by using a Kiremko High Efficency Frying range. You will save on oil - due to built in automatic filtration. There will be much lower gas usage and there will be less poato shrinkage, which means more portions from the bag.

April
EXHIBITIONS
We have recently exhibited at two shows. The Donington Fast Food Expo and Fry I.T. in Northampton.

Both were extremely successful. At Donington, FOUR ranges were sold on the stand and although the Northampton show was only last week (23rd April), the leads generated look very promising!

FISH AND CHIP SHOP OF THE YEAR COMPETITION 2005/6
We are proud to announce that the Winners of this year’s Fish & Chip Shop of the Year Competition has a Kiremko fish and chip frying range. Nigel and Linda Hodgson have been in their present shop at Prospect Terrace for eight years, in fact, they first met through the fish and chip shop business working for Linda’s mum and dad in their shop in Lancaster.

Towards the end of 2004, Nigel contacted KFE Ltd about the possibility of installing a new Kiremko range. Bill Shaw of KFE met Linda and Nigel who visited Bizzie Lizzies to see how the range performed and decided to install a new Kiremko high efficiency range consisting of one high efficiency flat bottomed pan and three high efficiency chip pans. At the same time, Nigel had an extension built to the back of the shop to enable him to have more preparation space. Since the installation of the range, Linda and Nigel have seen an even greater increase in their turnover and they put it down, predominantly to an improvement in the quality of product, particularly chips, faster turnover of the product with shorter cooking times. The members of staff are also happier because they find the range easier to clean than the one it replaced.

Nigel is very proud of the fact that he was one of the winners of the Young Fish Frier of the Year Award and now is equally as proud that his manager, Paul Eden has won this year’s Young Fish Frier of the Year Award.

“I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever in asking KFE to supply me with my Kiremko range, the promises made about its performance have all been matched and it has been the major reason for us enjoying increased business,” said Nigel.

THE KFE ANNUAL DINNER DANCE
Suzi Quatro got them all rocking and rolling at the KFE Dinner & Dance which was held on Sunday 22 January in Peterborough.

Suzi and her band sang all her old hits, including Can the Can and Devil Gate Drive and even agreed to have her photograph taken with KFE’s Directors, Bill Shaw and Paul Williams.

Being conscious of the plight of Seafishermen, the KFE once again held a raffle to raise funds for the charity and raised £970.00 which has been sent off the Seafishermen’s Mission in London.

Attending the dinner and dance included five previous winners of the National Fish & Chip Shop of the Year and at least fourteen finalists as well three winners of Drywite’s prestigious Young Fish Frier of the Year Award.

A Golf Day prior to the dance was a great success with Rebecca Lord’s husband, Matthew being the winner!

Thanks once again to our sponsors for making it a memorable night.

KIREMKO JUBILEE RANGES - AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS Kiremko frying ranges have been on the forefront of technology and development for some years now, and KFE Ltd. are flattered that many of their competitors are following their lead, not only with what is on the range, but also the various designs developed by Kiremko to make the ranges more attractive in shops.

Many operators with much smaller shops have been asking Kiremko for some time about the possibility of launching a range with the same build quality but at a price which suits their pocket, their shop sizes and turnover.

That range is now here with the manufacture of the Jubilee range.

Made in Kiremko’s factory, the materials used are exactly the same as on higher profile ranges, but the frills such as filtration and electronic ignition have been removed. The ranges are built with deep square pans that suit everyone, deep hot boxes with thermostatically controlled heat and features analogue ignition which has for many years now been featured on traditional ranges.

The Jubilee ranges are available in counter, island or wall style and a typical price for a three pan counter range with chip box, fully installed is as little as £18,000.00 plus VAT. (The price obviously is dependent on the final counter size).

This price compares very favourably with KFE’s competitors in the traditional range market. Peter Morris of Jack’s was so impressed with his first Jubilee range that he has now ordered a further two to be installed, as has Mark Sullivan.

These ranges have been in the shops for sometime now, and the reports from the operators can only be described as excellent. ‘Good performing pans, good recovery and easy to maintain’ is the general consensus of opinion from all of them.

Indeed, the Jubilee so impressed recent visitors to the Brands Hatch Exhibition that the model on display on the KFE stand was sold and orders for two more were received within a few days following the exhibition.

Said Bill Shaw, Director of KFE Ltd., “Our main sales will always be from our ranges that include filtration and electronic or computerised ignition, but there is undoubtedly another market which we aim to develop with the excellently manufactured JUBILEE.

We are pleased to announce that Fred Capel from Chez Fred's in Bournmouth has ordered 2 Kiremko Frying ranges.
